Fire Risk Assessment Services

There is a legal requirement (the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005) for all non-domestic premises to conduct a fire risk assessment.

The fire risk assessment should follow the same 5 steps approach as general risk assessments, but should specifically focus on:

  • Identification of ignition sources, for example electrical appliances, heating equipment, lighting etc.
  • Identification of fuels sources, for example paper, card, wood, furniture, flammable gases or liquids etc.
  • Identification of oxygen sources, for example ambient air, ventilation systems, open doors/windows etc.

These three components form the basis of the fire triangle. Fire prevention (and fighting) relies on keeping the three components apart.

Phoenix Health and Safety can assist with your fire risk assessment requirements. We can carry out the assessments on your behalf, or we can assist you to carry them out by providing forms, examples and support.

We can also provide training in fire risk assessment.
