Another happy Phoenix delegate!

Praise for Phoenix Health & Safety

Patrick Greene recently studied the NEBOSH Construction Certificate via distance learning and obtained brilliant results. Patrick achieved 249 which resulted in him achieving a Distinction. Here is what Patrick had to say;

“In February 2011 after many years in the construction Industry and at 50 years of age I decided to take a break, a slight change of direction and a new challenge. I have had an Interest in H&S for some time. I’ve held the CPCS card for more years than I care to remember also the CSCS H&S managers certificate and attended the H&S (CDM regs) managers course in Wolverhampton University in 2005. All very informative but lacking the in-depth knowledge of a premier qualification such as NEBOSH in my opinion.”

As I live local to the head office of Phoenix Health & Safety in Cannock I called in to discuss the courses available. It was very apparent that this was a very professional and well resourced company I was made very welcome by the Office Manager who showed me course materials (for the NEBOSH construction certificate by distance learning) and answered all of my questions bar none. Times are hard and I was looking for a deal and after a short discussion a discount was agreed and I left with a daunting file of information. Over the next six months I absorbed so much due to the novel presentation of the course materials and the fantastic help and support of the tutors.”

I now have a NEBOSH Distinction in Construction Health & Safety. Thank you again Phoenix.”

We would like to congratulate Patrick on his fantastic result and thank him for his feedback.

TRAINING COMPANY GETS MIDVEN BACKING

Phoenix Health and Safety has received backing from the Exceed- Midlands Advantage Fund.

The business is being supported with a £255,000 investment from Midven’s Exceed Fund which is backed by Lloyds Development Capital, Advantage West Midlands and the European Regional Development Fund.

Phoenix Health and Safety which provides accredited health and safety training and consultancy services, was set up by Nick and Gizelle Higginson in 2005. The company employs over 20 staff and is on track to achieve turnover in excess of £3 million in its current financial year.

The additional funding from Midven is to help accelerate growth through the provision of additional courses, new staff, establishing new training locations and international expansion.

Founder and Managing Director Nick Higginson who previously had extensive experience working in the health and safety sector, said he was delighted with the support and backing of Midven.

“We’ve grown the business rapidly and expanded our operations to cover the whole of the country – as well as introducing courses by distance and e-learning.  We have also broadened our offering to appeal to a greater number of individuals and businesses.   We operate in a very competitive environment – and that means we have to be both agile and continually mindful of our customers’ needs,” said Mr Higginson.

Company Secretary and Director Gizelle Higginson added, “The financial backing of Midven will allow Phoenix to extend our range of products and areas of operation, as well as improving the quality of services for our existing clients. This means that Phoenix will be able to compete at the very forefront of the industry, and accelerate our already phenomenal growth.”

Surjit Kooner of Midven who has overseen the investment added, “Phoenix is a great example of an entrepreneurial business that has had a single-minded focus.”

“This is a company that started life on the kitchen table but today is on track to deliver an annual turnover well in excess of £3 million. The company has built up a strong reputation and is beginning to benefit from repeat bookings from individuals and corporate clients including Schneider Electric, Northern Rail and the Ministry of Defence.  Phoenix has also taken its own advice – investing significantly in the training of its own staff and developing new systems and products,” said Mr Kooner.

Another happy Phoenix delegate!

Praise for Phoenix Health & Safety

Martin Wood recently studied for the NEBOSH Construction Certificate via distance learning and obtained fantastic results! Achieving an overall mark of 260 resulted in Martin being awarded a Distinction, the highest mark offered for a NEBOSH certificate course. Martin got 92 in NGC1, 85 in the NCC1 and 83 in the NCC2.

Here is what Martin had to say:

“ Two years ago I was asked by my company if I would be interested in playing a part  in our internal Health and Safety arrangements, this would involve being trained to attain an appropriate NEBOSH qualification, in my case the NEBOSH Construction Certificate.”

A tentative ‘yes’ was quickly followed by some apprehension and  uncertainty on what this would involve.

A Google search produced 2 or 3 Health and Safety training organisations that appeared to stand out from the rest.

For me distant learning was soon found to be the best option for my personal circumstances and from my shortlist of potential course providers  Phoenix Health & Safety ticked all the boxes.

A number of things attracted me:

One sentence really stood out which was ‘Guaranteed Pass’. Phoenix were so confident  in their product they would support their students to this extent. This was very reassuring, even before the course had started to know that if I followed the guidance given and was prepared to work hard I would pass. This element was priceless.

The expert qualifications and experience of the tutors was very impressive and it was clear many of them had taken a similar route through distance learning  themselves when they first started out on the H&S road and I knew they would be able to understand my own circumstances.

Pricing was very important and out of all the providers considered Phoenix were extremely competitive and proved to be the most cost effective.

On receiving the course materials and checking the contents the first thing I did was to contact my designated tutors to introduce myself and get some initial guidance. Both were immediately in touch with me and provided some reassuring words of encouragement and sound advice on how to cover and to get the best out of the materials.

Each element was very well explained. the revision sections with the question and answers gave a good indicator on how well you had understood  what had been covered.

Anytime I needed support concerning my studies my tutors were a simple phone call or email away and never let me down once over the 18 months to two years of the course.

In preparation for the actual exam days mock tests were provided to fully prepare me for the big day.

Looking back, the course materials, excellent tutor support  and my own hard work has enabled me to gain a Distinction in the NEBOSH Construction Certificate.

I am now seriously considering progressing onto the NEBOSH Diploma and if I do it will certainly be with Phoenix Health & Safety.”

We would like to congratulate Martin on his superb results and would like to thank him for his feedback.

If you would like to get results as good as Martin’s why not sign up today!
