NEBOSH National Diploma Classroom Training Course

NEBOSH National Diploma Classroom Training Course

NEBOSHThe NEBOSH National Diploma is a degree level health and safety qualification intended specifically for those who wish to become health and safety professionals, such as health and safety managers, consultants and advisors. Many UK universities accept the qualification as accredited prior learning to progress to MSc level courses.

It is recommended that students have first completed a NEBOSH National General Certificate or NEBOSH National Construction Certificate before progressing onto the Diploma.

The NEBOSH Diploma enables holders to apply for Graduate Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (GradIOSH) as well as full membership of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). Holders of the NEBOSH National Diploma are allowed to use “DipNEBOSH” after their name.

Holders of the qualification are eligible for Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) status (if they meet the experience requirements). If you would rather progress to CMIOSH status via a practical, evidence based route (rather than exams), you may wish to consider the NVQ Level 5 Diploma.

Study Method and Course Materials

We offer the course in a classroom environment, delivered in 7 weeks of tuition over a 6 month period. There are additional revision workshops for each unit included FREE OF CHARGE.

Some students are unable to commit to 7 weeks tuition, so as an alternative, we also offer the course via distance learning.

Detailed and engaging course materials will be provided, written in-house by our Technical Writer and Lead Diploma Tutor, Dr Julie Riggs DProf MSc CMIOSH MBOHS MISIAQ. These materials include:

  • Immersive and highly detailed content on all the areas contained in the syllabus
  • Examples and case studies to bring the course material to life
  • Activities and revision questions for you to test your knowledge
  • Mind map summaries to assist with retaining knowledge and revising
  • Tutor-marked assignments to ensure you are progressing towards your exams

You will be provided with hard copy and electronic versions of the course materials, meaning you can use them for taking notes in class, as well as revising on your mobile or tablet devices.

In addition to the course materials, students have FREE access to our bi-weekly live online webinars, and our thriving online community where you can discuss your studies or any questions with fellow students and/or tutors.

Live Webinars included.

Course Structure

There are three distinct units with taught content that make up the NEBOSH National Diploma course syllabus:

  • Unit A: Managing Health and Safety
  • Unit B: Hazardous Agents in the Workplace
  • Unit C: Workplace and Work Equipment Safety

Unit D, is a work based practical assignment that tests application of the knowledge students have obtained during the taught units.

Phoenix tutors are experts in their field, but also chosen for their ability to interact and engage with students. As well as top class delivery in the classroom, you will be set private study and revision to work on whilst you are away from the classroom.

Our lead NEBOSH Diploma tutor is Dr Julie Riggs DProf MSc CMIOSH MBOHS MISIAQ, who is a world renowned expert in health and safety. She has presented in the House of Commons and been interviewed for both national television and radio shows. Julie is also a NEBOSH examiner. There is no one better to help you through your Diploma studies.

We also have very busy and active online discussion forums where students are able to talk to each other, post questions, attempt activities and interact with tutors.

Guaranteed Pass

We are so confident in our training materials and methods that we offer a guaranteed pass on this course. Many NEBOSH Diploma providers would require you to pay them more money if you are not successful in your exams, or impose a time duration restriction on any further support you receive. Phoenix doesn’t treat our customers this way -  you are allowed to continue with your studies and receive tutor support for as long as it takes until you completed the course (subject to the time constraints imposed by NEBOSH). Please refer to our terms and conditions for further information on the guaranteed pass.

In-House Courses

We are happy to offer discounts for multiple/group bookings. If an organisation has several delegates to put through the qualification, there is an option to hold company specific courses, revision workshops and exams on your premises. Please contact us for more information and for a tailored proposal.
