Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling

According to the law, manual handling risks should be reduced to the lowest levels reasonably practicable.

To achieve this goal, education and training is essential. Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, our manual handling course is a great way of getting the knowledge and skills you need to ensure you and your staff can carry out your duties safely.


Through the CIEH Principles of Manual Handling course, delegates can acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out operations in a way that dramatically reduces the risk of injury to themselves or others.

Who Should Attend the Manual Handling Course?

Any individual who has to perform lifting, carrying or other manual labour tasks as part of their duties would benefit from attending manual handling training courses.

Course Duration

The CIEH Principles of Manual Handling Course is a half day course.


  • Element 1: Introduction to Manual Handling
  • Element 2 : Manual handling hazards
  • Element 3 : Legislation and guidance
  • Element 4 : Risk Assessment
  • Element 5 : Controls and reducing the risk of harm


Candidates who attend the manual handling course and successfully complete the written assessments will receive a certificate for the Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling.


This course is offered on client’s premises, specifically for a group of your employees. Though we can offer the course anywhere in the UK and beyond, additional travel costs may apply if outside England and Wales.


£495 per course exc. VAT, plus an extra charge of £12.95 exc. VAT per delegate (maximum 15).

The price of the CIEH Principles of Manual Handling course includes tuition, course materials, exam fees, certificates, travel and accommodation. Additional expenses for travel and accommodation may be charged for locations outside England and Wales.
