Fees

All fees are payable in advance. Course materials will not be sent until payment is received. Fees quoted are correct at time of publication, but Phoenix Health & Safety reserves the right to alter fees at any time.

Cancellations following a confirmed booking will be charged a £30 administration fee. Once materials are sent, refunds cannot be offered.

Guaranteed Pass

Phoenix Health & Safety offer a guaranteed pass on all distance learning courses. This means that candidates are entitled to continue studying (free of charge) if they fail to meet the required standard in the examinations. If applicable, the delegate will be required to pay the exam fees for any re-sits.

The guaranteed pass only applies if the following criteria are met:

  • The candidate is accepted onto the course by Phoenix Health & Safety
  • The candidate takes a full and active part in the course, and completes any tasks/projects set
  • The candidate meets the required standard in all tutor – marked assessments.
Course Content

Units and Assessments

For each of the three units in IOSH Safety and Health for Business, there is a mandatory assessment task for each learner to complete individually. Time allocation for completing each of these three assessment tasks should be taken from the learner’s self-study time allowance.

Develop and write a business case to recommend the introduction of an effective occupational safety and health management system.

How to influence a safety and health culture within an organisation.

Complete a research report into organisational health and safety culture.

A strategic, business-focused approach to safety and health.

Complete research and a presentation on either an organisation’s value chain or a function within the value chain.

                                                                                         

To meet the qualification’s objective of developing an understanding of safety and health in a business context, learners will:

  • understand internal and external roles and how they have an impact on safety and health in the organisation
  • explore the main functions and aims of an organisation, and how strategic drivers affect its operation
  • learn about monitoring safety and health performance, and how improvement plans can be used to improve practices
  • understand organisational culture, including techniques that can help develop a safety culture.

 Assessment and Certification

Upon passing all three end of unit assessments, the delegate will receive a NCFE IOSH Level 3 Certificate in Safety and Health for Business. 

When do people know whether they have passed?

Once the portfolio is submitted to IOSH for verification, IOSH will contact Phoenix with the relevant outcome following the review.

How long does it take to get the certificate?

The submitted portfolio will go through the IOSH and NCFE verification process and if the portfolio meets the IOSH and NCFE standards, the delegate will receive a certificate. The certification process can take up to several months.

Location

As a distance e-learning programme, the IOSH Certificate in Safety and Health for Business can be studied by anyone with a suitable internet connection.

We make mentors available via telephone and email so candidates can get the help they need, when they need it.

Course fees

IOSH Certificate in Safety and Health for Business E-Learning costs £395 plus VAT for each candidate.

This includes access to online training materials and a maximum of two years to complete the required assessment.

We include up to two years of mentorship and admin support per participant to help ensure you get the best from your IOSH online training.

Please note that completing this course does not give you membership of IOSH, although this is something you might want to consider separately.
