The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is one of the UK's most widely respected and in-demand health and safety qualifications for the construction industry. This conversion course has been designed for candidates who have completed the NGC1 unit (Management of Health & Safety) of the NEBOSH General Certificate, in the last 5 years.
This qualification covers the core health and safety issues involved in construction and aims to provide candidates with a comprehensive understanding of how to identify and manage workplace hazards.
Classroom Courses & Covid
We continue to operate classroom courses safely throughout the UK, working with our venues to ensure they adhere to strict Covid-secure measures. We use larger training rooms to enable social distancing, follow government guidelines on hand sanitising, facemask wearing and no longer allow a buffet style food service. Who is this course suitable for?
The NEBOSH Certificate in Construction conversion course is designed for construction industry managers, supervisors and coordinators, who have already completed the NGC1 unit (Management of Health & Safety) of the NEBOSH General Certificate, in the last 5 years.

Learning outcomes of the NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Conversion
- Effectively manage health and safety on a construction site
- Identify and control common workplace hazards on a construction site
- Understand the UK’s key legal requirements for managing health and safety at work.
- Understand the importance and key elements of health and safety management systems.
- Be aware of the duties of clients, designers, principal designer, principal contractors and contractors under the Construction Regulations 2015.
- Apply principles and practice of risk assessment.
- Identify construction workplace hazards, such as those associated with excavation, work at height, demolition and workplace transport safety.
- Use methods for controlling identified workplace hazards within the construction industry.
Many candidates who pass the NEBOSH Construction Certificate choose to further their career later by undertaking the NEBOSH Diploma.
The NEBOSH Construction Certificate course consists of two assessments:
- A written examination
- A practical assessment carried out at your place of work, to demonstrate that you can apply what you have learnt during the course to a real workplace.
On successful completion of both units and the practical assessment, a NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety will be awarded.
After completing this course, you will be eligible for Technician Membership of The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), as well as associate membership of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).

Payment Plans are offered to self-funding UK students only. We require 30% of the total course fee upfront. Payments will be made monthly from the day your deposit was made and must be received within 7 days of this date. The balance of your account must be cleared in full, prior to you registering for examinations. Payment plans can be paid by: Credit/debit card or bank transfer. When and how will I receive my results and NEBOSH certificate?
NEBOSH send out the results 10-12 weeks after the exams. Your certificates will arrive from Phoenix 10-12 weeks after the results have been announced.
Are there any entry requirements for NEBOSH Certificates?There are no entry requirements, which makes the NEBOSH Certificate an ideal starting point for your health and safety training. Learners must have a suitable standard of English language to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.
What happens if I fail the NEBOSH assessment?The Phoenix Pass Pledge will cover your additional studies, but you retake the exams at your own cost.
