What qualification do you need?
The three main providers of Phoenix courses are NEBOSH, IOSH and City & Guilds.
NEBOSH is The National Examination Board in Occupational Health and Safety. It provides syllabuses, exams and assignments in 80 countries via accredited course providers such as Phoenix, leading to qualifications in health, safety and environmental matters that are widely recognised by major international corporations and governments. The examinations are delivered to exacting standards, ensuring that the qualifications are highly valued by students and employers.
The main NEBOSH courses and qualifications we provide are at three levels:
IOSH is The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, the world's biggest health and safety organisation, acting as the chartered body for health and safety professionals. It is based in the UK but recognised worldwide.
The main IOSH courses we provide are:
City & Guilds NVQs
Founded in 1878, the City & Guilds of London Institute is one of the oldest vocational educational organisations - traditional guardians of work-based training. Their courses remain among the world's most valued workplace based health & safety qualifications. The newly revised level 5 NVQ diploma is the UK’s premier vocational qualification for safety professionals who want to attain chartered status of IOSH (CMIOSH) through a practical, evidence-based route as opposed to an academic course.

Your questions answered
Does Phoenix offer discounts for bulk bookings?
If your organisation has several candidates seeking the same qualification, we may be able to offer discounts on enrolment and provide candidates with company-specific course. Please ask for details.
Does Phoenix accept payment in instalments?
Yes, your sales advisor will agree your payment plan before you start the course. Payments can be by credit/debit card, bank transfer or cheque. Minimum deposit is 30% of the course fee. We charge £5 plus VAT per month for each monthly instalment following the initial deposit. The balance of your account must be cleared in full before you can register for exams.
Is an e-learning or distance learning qualification worth the same as a classroom-based qualification?
Yes, exactly the same. In fact the certificate you receive at the end of your course won't even mention the method of study.
Will Phoenix help with revision and can I view past exams?
We offer comprehensive support at every stage, whether your course is classroom-based, in-house, e-learning or distance learning. That includes assistance and advice to help you revise for exams as effectively as possible. For example, with the NEBOSH National General Certificate, we provide a free, downloadable revision guide. A library of past exams is available on demand And our trainers and advisers are always available for chats via social media, Skype etc. We're here to help every student succeed.
How do the qualifications help with employment and salary prospects?
According to the latest annual Jobs Barometer from NEBOSH and the annual salary survey published by Health & Safety at Work magazine, high level health and safety qualifications such as the NEBOSH Diploma and the City & Guilds Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Health and Safety Practice can enable holders to find a position with a higher salary in the short term, and help them to progress to better-paid senior positions in the future. Surveys also find that over 50% of health and safety jobs advertised now require a NEBOSH National Diploma or City & Guilds Level 5 NVQ qualification.
