What are NVQ Diplomas in Health & Safety?
NVQs are the UK's premier vocational qualifications and a great alternative to academic study. Students compile a portfolio using evidence-based learning from their workplace. NVQ Diplomas are suitable for health & safety professionals who already have a few years’ experience in the industry. Candidates are likely to have gained a level 3 health & safety qualification, such as a NEBOSH Certificate. All our NVQ courses are work-based and completed via distance learning. There are no formal, written exams. Candidates are assigned a dedicated course manager, who will support you and provide feedback throughout your course.
The NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Health & Safety is usually completed in 12 – 18 months, with a recommended total of approximately 1,000 hours of study.

Are there any entry requirements for NVQ Level 6?There are no formal entry requirements, but we recommend that candidates are in senior positions and experienced in health and safety roles. Before starting the programme, you will be asked to complete a self-assessment to identify training needs.
How long does it take to complete the NVQ Level 6?On average, it takes delegates between 12 and 18 months to complete the NVQ Level 6. However, some candidates manage to complete within a year, while others take longer than 18 months. Additional support can be purchased should you require more time to complete your qualification.
Are there any NVQ Level 6 equivalents?If you prefer a more academic approach to achieving a degree-level Health and Safety qualification, the NEBOSH National Diploma is the best alternative to NVQ Level 6.
What's the difference between Level 5 & Level 6 NVQ?NVQ Level 5 is the equivalent of a foundation degree. NVQ Level 6 is a higher qualification, equivalent to a full bachelor’s degree and the NEBOSH National Diploma. Due to its slightly more stringent requirements, many international employers prefer NVQ Level 6.
When will I get my NVQ results?You will receive a pass or fail result once each unit is moderated. However, your Phoenix assessor won’t send off a unit unless it’s going to pass the course unit criteria.
